Documents Attestation In UAE

Do you need your documents attested in UAE?

Do you need your documents attested?
The application for attestation can be performed online, eliminating the need to leave the house.

What measures to take if you are applying for a job or an official procedure and need your documents attested? When you migrate to a new country, you must attest a document, such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, or educational certificate, to show your qualifications. In the UAE, your education degree may need to be confirmed for your company to apply for a work visa, or your marriage certificate may need to be attested to apply for an immigration procedure to transfer to a new nation.

Whatever your needs, here’s all you need to know about verifying your documents.

What attestations are required?

If you want to attest a document, you must do so in two phases.

1. Get the documents attested from the UAE Embassy, Consulate, or Foreign Office in the nation where the document was issued.

2. You must then get the document attested from the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC).

MOFAIC or an attestation service provider can complete both of these stages.

Where may I obtain attestation services?

The simplest way to obtain the attestation service is to apply directly with MOFAIC or through an attestation service provider.

These are the only possibilities for getting your documents attested:

1. MOFAIC’s official website – www.mofaic.gov.ae

2. The ‘UAE MOFAIC smartphone application, which is available for Apple and Android smartphones.

3. At a MOFAIC customer satisfaction center.

4. Attestation service providers: WeServe offers document attestation services in the UAE, which may be a convenient choice if you do not want to conduct the application procedure yourself.

What types of documents can be attested?

You can apply to MOFAIC to have any of the following documents attested:

  • Original birth certificate
  • Certificates issued by the court
  • For UAE citizens: Death Certificate
  • For Non-UAE nationals: Death Certificate
  • Fingerprint documentation
  • Education Certificates
  • Employment Labour Contract
  • General Power Of Attorney (non-commercial enterprise)
  • Certificate of Good Conduct
  • Judicial decisions
  • Misplaced foreign passport
  • Marriage agreement
  • Medical Certificate
  • Additional certifications
  • The police report
  • Power of attorney for a specific reason (for example, for selling a car)
  • Certificates to whom it may concern
  • Certificate of work experience

How to Apply Directly via the MOFAIC Website

Follow these steps to attest any of the above documents on the Ministry’s website:

1. Register using the UAE Pass

You will be required to register with the website using your UAE Pass first.

2. Select ‘Individual services’

Under the services area, you will find the choice for Individual services, from which you can choose the service to attest official documents and certificates.

3. Click on ‘Start Service’

You will be required to verify your identity.

This will be done via your phone’s UAEPass app, which is linked to the Ministry’s website. You will be able to continue registering for the attestation service on the MOFAIC website once you have confirmed your identity on the app using your secret pin or facial recognition (whichever option you selected when setting up the UAE Pass account).

4. Enter the attestation request details.

You would then need to provide information on the document that has to be attested, as well as whether the attestation should take place at the UAE foreign office in the country where it was issued, or at MOFAIC in the UAE.

5. Make the payment

You would then be expected to make the needed payment.

MOFAIC charges Dh150 for attestation services for all of the papers specified above, plus Dh6.06 E-dirham fees.

You will then receive a text message and an email with a reference number verifying your application was successful.

The document will then be picked up from you by a courier service and sent to you at your specified address once the attestation is completed.
